EKURHULENI – ActionSA has announced television host Xolani Khumalo as its mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni ahead of South Africa’s local government elections next year.

Khumalo is best known for hosting the popular crime-fighting show Sizok’thola, which focuses on criminal investigations and community safety. In July 2023, he was arrested and charged with murder following the death of an alleged drug dealer, but the charges were withdrawn earlier this year.

The political party described Khumalo as a leader ready to tackle crime, restore public services, and promote economic growth and employment in the city.
