Matsapha – Government officials and health partners launched Eswatini’s Pinkctober campaign yesterday at Matsapha Police Academy, aiming to strengthen the fight against breast and cervical cancer across the country.
The Ministry of Health, Eswatini National Cancer Control Unit, Swaziland Breast and Cervical Cancer Network, WHO Eswatini, Education for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Royal Eswatini Police Service, and Parliament joined the launch under the theme “THRIVE365: Screen, Support, Survive.”
Minister of Health Hon. Mduduzi Matsebula told attendees that the theme calls for sustained cancer care throughout the year, not just during awareness month. He urged communities to support early detection and ensure that no woman, family, or community faces the cancer journey alone.
Officials said the campaign will focus on raising awareness, encouraging regular screenings, and strengthening systems to support patients. Stakeholders committed to maintaining efforts to reduce the impact of cancer in Eswatini, particularly among women.
