Mbabane – The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a temporary suspension of identification card services across Eswatini due to a malfunction in the ID card production printers. The disruption began on 24 September 2025, affecting all service centres nationwide.
The Ministry urges individuals with urgent ID card needs to visit their nearest service centre, where staff will provide special acknowledgements and alternative arrangements to address pressing identification requirements.
Principal Secretary N.R. Nxumalo said the Ministry is working with relevant stakeholders to resolve the technical issues and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. He added that measures are being explored to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
Citizens are asked to remain patient as the Ministry works to resume full ID card services.
