Johannesburg – Former Orlando Pirates striker Lehlohonolo Majoro has expressed confidence in coach Abdeslam Ouaddou as the Buccaneers face Stellenbosch FC in today’s MTN8 final.
The match kicks off at 18:00 at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, with tickets selling out just a day after release. Pirates are defending champions and aim to claim a fourth consecutive MTN8 title, following last season’s 3-1 victory over Stellenbosch at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Majoro said Ouaddou and his players are motivated to make history and build the new coach’s legacy. “Being a coach of a team like Pirates comes with expectations. The previous coach laid a strong foundation, so adjusting takes time,” Majoro told FARPost.
He added that Pirates’ management brought in Ouaddou for a reason and believes the team is ready for today’s challenge. “Pirates want the fourth win, and the coach wants to be part of that history. Football is about legacy and making history, so it will be an interesting one.”
