Matsapha – The African Traditional Leaders Conference 2025 has come to a close at Esibayeni Lodge, bringing together delegates from across the continent to deliberate on the role of traditional leadership in Africa’s future.
Delivering the closing address on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III and the Government of Eswatini, the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, S’khumbuzo Dlamini, thanked King Dr Robinson Tanyi of Cameroon, the African Union and all participants for contributing to what he described as a historic gathering.
Dlamini said the commitments made in the Eswatini Declaration should serve as a living covenant, one that restores Africa’s pride, protects its heritage and secures justice for generations to come. He assured delegates that the submissions made to His Majesty will be taken seriously, including the proposal for Eswatini to host the All Africa Conference of Traditional Leaders in 2026.
The three day meeting concluded with a renewed call for unity, dignity and greater recognition of traditional leaders as key figures in shaping the continent’s future.
