Shiselweni-born entrepreneur Motsa Phiwokuhle is gaining recognition for her innovative approach to agriculture through EcoHeat Enterprise, a venture that focuses on organic cayenne farming and processing it into a signature cayenne sauce.
Her project is rooted in the belief that farming can address more than food security. She chose cayenne for its health properties, including its role in helping prevent non-communicable diseases, and set out to prove that healthier living can be achieved through accessible and affordable natural resources.
EcoHeat Enterprise goes beyond crop production. The business introduces the community to climate-smart agriculture while promoting sustainable lifestyles. The model demonstrates that farming can be environmentally friendly, socially inclusive and economically sustainable.
Motsa, who hails from a region where many young people migrate to urban centres in search of work, has positioned herself as an example of what local innovation can achieve. She is determined to show her peers that agriculture is not a relic of the past but a forward-looking career that blends resilience, responsibility and modern innovation to create a greener future for Eswatini.
