Johannesburg – Botswana-based gallery Ora Loapi will showcase the works of visual artist Lerato Lodi at this year’s FNB Art Joburg, one of Africa’s leading platforms for contemporary art.
The exhibition, set to run in 2025, will feature Lodi’s paintings that explore memory, spirituality, and the everyday experiences of Black life. Her work, known for its rich symbolism and bold use of colour, engages ancestral presence while reflecting on the beauty and fragility of lived experiences.
Ora Loapi’s curatorial vision focuses on the shared histories of Southern Africa, viewing culture as a continuum that transcends colonial boundaries. The gallery said Lodi’s collection at FNB Art Joburg presents tenderness as resistance, beauty as reclamation, and storytelling as a bridge between generations.
Visitors will find Ora Loapi’s presentation of Lodi’s work at LAB #F during the fair.
