MBABANE – Royal Leopard striker Thokozani ‘Thikithi’ Dlamini is in top form. Last month he was named Player of the Tournament in the Ingwenyama Cup and won E15,000. Now he is leading the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup scorers’ list.
Dlamini scored twice in Leopard’s 3-1 win over newcomers Amawele. His first goal came just a minute into the second half, and he added the second eight minutes later. His two goals put him at the top of the scoring chart, where the top scorer will win E7,000.
The competition is still going on, so it is not yet certain that Dlamini will finish as the leading scorer. Ten other players are close behind with one goal each, including teammate Thembisa Shabangu, Ubombo Sugar’s Melusi ‘Vardy’ Thwala, and Green Mamba’s Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa.
The 8Bet Trade Fair Cup started with a 1-1 draw between Ubombo Sugar and Sisonkhe. Sugar won 5-3 in the penalty shootout to move on.
With the quarter finals coming up tonight, all eyes will be on Dlamini to see if he can score again and keep his lead.
