MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Senator Pholile Shakantu yesterday received a visiting delegation from the State of Kuwait, which includes former ambassadors, spouses of ambassadors and business leaders.
The three-day visit was coordinated by Mrs Polinah Dlamini, spouse of Eswatini’s Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Nkululeko Dlamini. She also serves as President of the International Women’s Group in Kuwait.
According to government officials, the delegation’s programme centres on strengthening bilateral relations while exploring opportunities for investment and tourism development. During the formal welcome at the Cabinet offices, Minister Shakantu presented an overview of Eswatini’s cultural heritage and the calendar of national events that draw visitors each year.
She also held talks with the delegation on possible areas of cooperation to deepen relations between the two nations. The Prime Minister extended his welcome, urging the visitors to experience the country’s potential in both business and tourism.
“We are eager to showcase the beauty and potential of Eswatini to our Kuwaiti partners. Together, we can explore various sectors that hold promise for mutual benefit,” said the Prime Minister.
Speaking on behalf of the Kuwaiti delegation, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alhasawi Group Hasan Abdulkarim Al-Hasawi expressed gratitude for the hospitality, noting that their mission was to strengthen ties and identify avenues for collaboration.
Diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Eswatini were established in 2008. Last November, Minister Shakantu paid an official visit to Kuwait where she held discussions with her counterpart, His Excellency Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
