Mbabane- A group of 24 former Members of Parliament has come together to form a consortium aimed at farming and entrepreneurship. The consortium, which is based in Tshaneni and has a remote office in Manzini, is chaired by former Ndzingeni MP Lutfo Dlamini.
The board secretary, who also serves as the general manager, is former MP Sibusiso “Scorpion” Nxumalo. Dlamini explained that the project is more than just about farming, noting that it is designed to empower former MPs while also building wealth locally.
He highlighted that many former MPs face challenges after leaving office, including difficulties in securing financing for their projects and struggling to find employment. To address this, the consortium intends to provide its members with soft loans to support their side businesses.
Dlamini further emphasized that the group sees itself not only as farmers but also as entrepreneurs rooted in the Tinkhundla system. As part of its commitment to modern agricultural practices, the consortium has already purchased a drone to enhance its farming operations.
