Mbabane – Gospel artist Vusimuzi Maculuve is preparing to wed for the third time, saying his faith in love and marriage remains strong despite two failed marriages.
Maculuve, who once sang alongside his ex-wife LaShongwe in his gospel group, opened up about the heartbreak of his last breakup. “For the first four months after the marriage failed, I could not even eat. The pain was unbearable,” he said.
He explained that his choice to marry openly rather than date in secret is rooted in his Christian values. “As a Christian, everything I do must be done transparently,” he said. “I prefer marriage over secrecy when it comes to relationships.”
The artist’s soon-to-be wife shares the same surname as his former spouse, Shongwe, a detail that has fuelled speculation online. Responding to rumours, Maculuve said: “The wife I am taking is not in my choir church and people are spreading false rumours.”
Despite the criticism, Maculuve said his belief in marriage has not changed. In his wedding invitation, he wrote: “I still believe in marriage. A home must have a woman to be warm.”
