MBABANE – Young Buffaloes’ key players have promised to ‘fight’ for a win against Lesotho’s Kick4Life FC in a crucial CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers match today.
The team, fresh off a loss to Gaborone, sees the match as their ticket to the knockout stage. The match, which will kick off at noon, is being held at the UJ AW Muller Stadium.
The stakes are high for the Eswatini champions, and the players are determined to redeem themselves after their previous game. Midfielder Sisanda ‘Mbomboza’ Ndzinisa said the team has been working hard to correct the mistakes that led to their loss to Gaborone.
“As a team we promise Eswatini that we will put more effort, we will fight,” she said.
Team captain Celiwe ‘Cece’ Nkambule echoed Ndzinisa’s sentiments, promising the nation that the team will fight to secure a victory.
Coach Fisiwe ‘Shisa’ Hlophe acknowledged the challenge facing her squad, particularly the absence of a key defender who received a red card in the last match.
“We can’t deny the fact that our defender getting a red card is affecting us,” she admitted.
However, Hlophe remained optimistic, stating that a new player has been placed in her position. She emphasized the importance of the match, calling it the team’s “ticket to qualify for the knockout stage.”
