Ezulwini – Banele Ngobe, the Chief Executive Officer of Nsingizini Hotspurs FC, said the club’s newly launched television show will give Eswatini football international exposure while creating a sustainable commercial model for the team.
Ngobe was speaking on Friday evening during the launch of Insingiz’Yezulu, a monthly programme that will air on SuperSport, with 13 episodes planned for its first season. He said the production was designed to tell the story of Hotspurs and Eswatini football beyond the country’s borders.
“We want to tell our story to the rest of the world. We believe we have a beautiful story and television is one of the biggest platforms in football. Through content creation and commercialization, we aim to build sustainability for the club,” Ngobe said.
He explained that Hotspurs partnered with Johannesburg-based Media Moraga after an extensive search for a media house that shared their vision. “The partnership allows us to produce quality content that gives our sponsors value and positions Hotspurs not only as an Eswatini club, but also as an African brand,” he added.
Ngobe noted that the project was also a tool to attract more corporate partners. “Sponsors invest their money with us and we must give them value. Football is a powerful platform for marketing, and this show provides a direct link between the game and business,” he said.
Looking ahead to the new Premier League season, Ngobe welcomed new investors joining Eswatini football, saying their presence proved confidence in the country’s talent. “Eswatini has fertile ground for football development. What we need are resources to ensure our players compete at the highest level. A strong, competitive league will inspire supporters to return to stadiums,” he said.
On the club’s targets for this season, Ngobe confirmed that Hotspurs have been tasked with defending the domestic title and reaching the group stages of the CAF Champions League. “The directive from the president and the board is clear. We need to be competitive and consistent in Africa,” he said.
Ngobe also echoed the club president’s call for unity in football, saying progress depended on all teams moving in the same direction. “Football is better when we are working together than apart. If every club invests in infrastructure and player development, our league and national team will grow stronger,” he said.
