Japan — His Majesty King Mswati III met South African music legend Yvonne Chaka Chaka during the opening of the TICAD9 conference in Japan, which concludes today. The event brought together African leaders, development partners, and stakeholders to discuss economic growth, health, and development across the continent.
Chaka Chaka attended as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador against malaria and as an Ambassador for Roll Back Malaria. She wore traditional Sicholo attire for the occasion.

During bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, King Mswati III was also introduced to Myaku-Myaku, the official mascot of Japan Expo 2025 in Osaka, decorated with Ligcebesha in honour of the King and the Kingdom of Eswatini.
