Mbabane – Great Wall Motors (GWM) South Africa has introduced a two-wheel drive variant to its popular Tank 300 diesel range, expanding the line-up to seven models, with three diesel options now available. The date of arrival in Eswatini is yet to be confirmed.
The new Luxury 2WD model is based on the entry-level Super Luxury 4WD but drops the 4WD decal and sends power exclusively to the rear wheels. It retains the in-house 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, delivering 135kW and 480Nm via a nine-speed automatic gearbox, with a claimed fuel consumption of 7.7 L/100 km.
The Luxury model preserves most features of the Super Luxury, including dual 12.3-inch displays, a transparent underbody camera, locking rear differential, LED headlights, nine-speaker sound system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features include a 360-degree camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Collision Warning.
GWM offers the Luxury in five colours: white, grey, black, orange, and Mars Red. The model comes with a seven-year/200,000 km warranty and a seven-year/75,000 km service plan.
Pricing for the diesel Tank 300 range in South Africa is as follows:
