MBABANE – A proud mother from Mbelebeleni has celebrated her constable ranked police officer and son’s achievement in a unique and traditional way, by gifting him a cow.
Speaking to Independent News during the 22nd Police Day and Passing Out Parade at the Police Academy in Matsapha, Make Dlamini said she was overjoyed that her only son had successfully completed his training to become a police officer.
“As a passing out gift, I decided to give him a cow. God has answered my prayers because I have been praying that He protects my son during the vigorous training over the past two years,” she said.
Dlamini said the journey had not been easy, but her faith had kept her hopeful until the proud day arrived. She added that the gift was not only a token of love but also a blessing for her son’s future.
Also speaking to Independent News was Bongani Khoza from Madonsa, who attended the event to support his wife, who was also among those who were passing out.
“I could not miss this day for anything,” Khoza said, beaming with pride.
Khoza said it was hard looking after the family alone while his wife was at the police academy. However, he said, it was worth it as his wife has finally passed out and the sacrifice was worth it.
