Mbabane – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) chairperson Polycarp “Phoseka” Dlamini has expressed concerns over what was termed off-the-field disputes, noting that are becoming significant impediments to football’s progress.
Dlamini pointed to ongoing power struggles at iconic teams like Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders A.M. and Manzini Wanderers.
He said these internal battles have created a toxic atmosphere that undermines the integrity of the game. Dlamini said that the PLE is prepared to intervene and mediate, emphasizing that a stable club environment is crucial for the health of the entire league.
“When our cornerstone clubs are in disarray,” Dlamini stated, “the ripple effects are felt throughout the sport, not just by the players and fans of those specific teams.”
His remarks underscore a broader anxiety within the Eswatini football community.
