Mbabane: Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini has announced that the distribution of E45 Million donated by Natie Kirsh will commence from today (Monday, May 25).

Dlamini said the distribution process will start at Shiselweni and Manzini regions where 69 000 people from 11 000 households will receive money to buy food of their choice. The other two regions will follow on the next weeks. This donation is going to assist 301 000 people affected by COVID-19 across all the four regions of the kingdom to procure food.

Dlamini revealed that government is cognizant of the reality that many people who were not chronically food insecure before COVID-19 now need food assistance. Therefore, the government will continue with the implementation of the hybrid model for food distribution which will also see food parcels being distributed. This people include workers who have been laid off, street vendors, hawkers and others. “We encourage EmaSwati to help each other in this trying period” said Premier.

The Prime Minister has warned business who might take advantage of the situation and unlawfully practice price hiking.
