Mbabane — Viva Stumbos, a National First Division team based in Malkerns, has appointed former bodybuilder Arnold Barbosa as its new Physical and Conditioning coach. The club announced the hire on its official social media page yesterday.
Barbosa, known locally for his achievements in bodybuilding, will focus on enhancing the players’ fitness, resilience, and overall performance ahead of the upcoming season. Club management said he will also implement tailored diet plans for the squad.
Speaking on his first day with the team, Barbosa said he felt an immediate connection with the players. “It was as though we’ve seen each other before, and I felt very welcomed,” he said, adding that the initial session was mostly introductions. He described Coach “Papi” as “very welcoming.”
Viva Stumbos recently signed a sponsorship deal with Viva Beverages as the club prepares for the new season. The team, nicknamed the Tingculungulu, is also working to strengthen its technical and marketing capabilities.
