The Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of China (Taiwan)’s relationship has created opportunities for 609 Eswatini students to study in Taiwan, the Taiwanese Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao said.
Cheng said this relationship has this year also seen two Taiwanese teachers exchanged to Eswatini to teach Mandarin.
Cheng also said several Taiwanese tertiary institutions have concluded academic exchange agreements with the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), anticipating the delegates’ visit to pave the way for more exchanges in the future.
Cheng was part of the reception of the Eswatini delegation that was led by Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko and Minister of Education and Training Owen Sabelo Nxumalo this week.
The Taiwanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lin Chia-lung, met the Eswatini delegation to discuss issues of mutual interest and the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
