Ubombo Sugar Football Club PRO Jada Smith has assured fans that the team will do everything possible to bring the 8bet Trade Fair Cup home. She made the promise while speaking to Independent News after the official launch of the tournament, which is sponsored by 8bet to the tune of E2.5 million.
The 8bet Trade Fair Cup will see all the teams from the MTN Premier League battle it out for the prestigious title. Last year’s champions, Young Buffaloes, have also confirmed their intention to defend their crown.
Smith said the players are well-prepared for the challenge ahead and praised the club’s leadership for strengthening the technical department ahead of the new season. “The boys are ready, and credit must go to management for reinforcing the team,” she said.
As part of their preparations for both the Trade Fair Cup and the MTN Premier League, Ubombo Sugar FC, formerly Illovo FC, announced changes to their technical team. Gcina Dlamini will continue as Head Coach, with Sihle Mavimbela and Mandla Vilakati named as his assistants. Mandla Mthembu takes over as Physical Trainer, while Fani Sithole has been appointed as Development Team Coach.
