MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini this afternoon received a visiting delegation of investors from the Republic of China (Taiwan), who are in Eswatini to explore sectors for potential investment.
The meeting, held at the Cabinet Offices, included Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo and Taiwan’s Ambassador to Eswatini, H.E. Jeremy Liang. The delegation represents a wide range of industries, including biotechnology, energy, aircraft maintenance, pharmaceuticals, ICT, engineering, textile, and food processing.
During their visit, the investors will meet His Majesty King Mswati III, tour the proposed 158-hectare Taiwan Industrial Park at Phocweni, and attend the Eswatini Economic and Investment Seminar scheduled for Wednesday.
Their itinerary also includes visits to key industrial and commercial sites such as Matsapha Industrial Estate, the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP), Far East Textile, Paper Tech Eswatini, Swazi Secrets Factory, Texray, Seylan Freight, Matsapha Dry Port, Manzini Market, Ezulwini Handcraft Market, and Ngwenya Glass.
The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and encouraged them to invest in Eswatini, citing the country’s favourable policies, strong bilateral ties, and access to international markets. He pointed to Eswatini’s trade relationship with the United States, which he said continues to offer low tariff benefits under existing trade frameworks.
“Our relationship with Taiwan and the United States is at its peak right now,” said Dlamini, adding that government remains committed to supporting investors through legislation that fosters stability and growth.
