GQEBERHA , SOUTH AFRICA – Astra Primary School has become the first beneficiary of a new artificial intelligence, coding, and robotics centre funded and developed by Isuzu Motors South Africa in collaboration with Sifiso EdTech.

The facility, handed over this week, is part of a broader R1.2 million investment aimed at equipping learners with early exposure to future technologies. It includes robotics kits, tablets, laptops, advanced coding tools, and a fully customised computer lab tailored for primary school learners.

The centre also comes with five-day training workshops for teachers, structured lesson plans, assessments, and a year-long educator support programme. Robotics competitions and coding showcases will be hosted at the facility to encourage pupil participation and spark community interest.

The project is a collaboration between Isuzu and Sifiso EdTech, an arm of the Sifiso Learning Group founded by business leaders Sizwe Nxasana and Judy Dlamini. The initiative targets the development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills at an early age, especially in under-resourced schools.
