EZULWINI – A delegation of medical professionals from the Amitofo Care Centre (ACC) in Singapore is currently in the country offering free medical treatment to hundreds of people through a partnership with Ezulwini Private Hospital and Mbabane Government Hospital.
The five-day outreach is being held at Ezulwini Private Hospital, where more than 150 patients per day are receiving care for various medical conditions. Treatments include oral surgery, orthopaedic services, skin care, and maxillofacial procedures.
The initiative, fully funded by ACC Singapore, targets individuals and families who are unable to afford specialized healthcare. Patients from different parts of the country have been arriving since the programme started, with hospital staff working alongside the visiting doctors to ensure smooth delivery of care.
Jackie Lee, Vice President of ACC Singapore, said the programme is aimed at improving the lives of those living in poverty and giving hope to patients who would otherwise go without treatment.
Ezulwini Private Hospital CEO Dr Thandeka Khanyile said the facility is committed to supporting initiatives that expand access to healthcare, especially for vulnerable populations.
Dr Mbuso Dlamini, Senior Medical Officer at Mbabane Government Hospital, welcomed the collaboration, noting that public hospitals face high demand for specialist care. He said the presence of the ACC doctors has allowed them to address complex cases that would normally require referrals or long waiting periods.
This is the first time the ACC medical team is visiting Eswatini, although the organisation has previously conducted similar outreach programmes in other African countries.
