PRETORIA – Senior officers from the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management visited South Africa’s Department of Defence Logistics Division on 22 July 2025 to explore the country’s defence logistics operations.
The Nigerian delegation was led by Major General W.B. Etuk, Commandant of the College, alongside Brigadier General E. Igoche. The visit took place at Saint George Hotel in Pretoria and formed part of the college’s efforts to learn more about logistics support, sustainment systems, and strategic logistics practices.
South Africa’s Logistics Division, under the leadership of Vice Admiral D.M. Mkhonto, hosted the delegation. Deputy Chief of Logistics, Major General T.E. Mulaudzi, welcomed the visitors and provided context for the engagement. The programme was opened with a scripture reading and prayer by Acting Division Chaplain, Chaplain E.M. Major General Etuk delivered remarks on the purpose of the visit, followed by a presentation from Brigadier B. Augus, Director of Logistics Management, who outlined how the department applies its logistical strategies. He described logistics as “the key to effective defence.”
The South African team also included Brigadier General Z. Dauwa from Education, Training and Development; Brigadier General R. Goruknath from Logistics Resources Management; and Brigadier General B. Augus, who led the technical presentation.
