MANZINI – Young farmers from across Eswatini gathered at the Mavuso Trade Centre this week for a national engagement forum hosted by NAMBoard, aimed at addressing key challenges facing youth in the agricultural sector.
The forum brought together contracted youth farmers and senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture to exchange ideas on access to farming inputs, markets, finance, and technical support.
Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Sydney Simelane, attended the forum and assured the participants of government’s commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable agriculture.
NAMBoard CEO Bhekizwe Maziya told the gathering that the forum marked a shift from consultation to collaboration. He said the organisation is working to improve its services by engaging directly with young farmers and listening to their lived experiences.
Participants shared feedback and proposed practical interventions to improve the horticultural value chain and ensure long-term sustainability in youth-led farming projects.
