MBABANE – The Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) has issued a warning to the public to carefully verify any financial institution before engaging in loans, savings, or investments.
Consumers are advised to confirm that a bank or financial service provider is licensed and regulated before trusting them with their money.
To verify legitimacy, the CBE recommends checking the official lists of authorised financial institutions available on its website and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) site. Licensed institutions are also required by law to display their licenses clearly at all their business locations.
If doubts remain, the public can contact the CBE or FSRA directly to confirm an institution’s status.
The central bank stresses that protecting one’s money starts with staying informed and conducting these simple checks to avoid fraud or financial loss.
