Chery’s Tiggo 7 range has received a notable update, now sporting a fresh look, new model names and more features—but without the previously available all-wheel-drive options.

The facelifted SUV, which remains a favourite in Eswatini and across the region, now comes in five variants following the removal of two all-wheel-drive models and the retirement of the “Pro” and “Pro Max” badges.

Rebranded under three new trim levels—Prime, Prestige and Legacy—the standard petrol line-up introduces aesthetic upgrades like a diamond-pattern chrome grille and subtly updated LED headlamps. The rear lights now resemble those seen on the Tiggo Cross.

Inside, while the layout is unchanged, tech features have been ramped up. The entry-level Prime boasts dual 12.3-inch digital displays, three USB type-C ports, a Sony six-speaker system, climate control, folding mirrors, and keyless entry, among others.

Prestige adds 19-inch alloy wheels, synthetic leather seats, ambient lighting, 540-degree camera view, eight airbags, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Safety enhancements include blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.

The top-tier Legacy pushes further with premium extras like heated seats, panoramic sunroof, eight-speaker sound system, electric tailgate, and advanced driver assistance features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam support.

Engine options remain unchanged. The Prime is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine delivering 108kW, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Prestige and Legacy variants rely on the 1.6-litre turbo unit producing 145kW and 290Nm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Chery has also retained the plug-in hybrid variant, known as the CSH (Chery Super Hybrid), which pairs the 1.5 turbo engine with an electric motor and 18.3kWh battery. This setup offers a combined 265kW, an electric-only range of 90km and a total claimed range of 1,200km.

The new Tiggo 7 is already on sale with the following prices:

  • Prime DCT (1.5 T-GDI): R429,900
  • Prestige DCT (1.6 T-GDI): R499,900
  • Legacy DCT (1.6 T-GDI): R549,900
  • CSH Plus: R619,900
  • CSH Ultra: R679,900

Each purchase is backed by Chery’s five-year/150,000km warranty, a five-year/60,000km service plan, and an impressive 10-year/1,000,000km engine warranty.
