Eswatini records 6 more new COVID-19 cases

Mbabane: While Eswatini government is embarking on easing the partial lockdown to allow the gradual opening of the economy, there continues to be an increase in coronavirus cases in the country.

The Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi has announced 6 more new confirmed COVID-19 cases, which makes the total number of cases grow to 159.

Nkosi made this announcement at the cabinet offices this evening when giving COVID-19 update. She announced that 136 received today, of which 130 tested negative and the six (6) tested positive.

Nkosi revealed that of the newly confirmed cases comprises of three (3) from Manzini Region, two (2) from Hhohho region and one (1) from Shiselweni region. Nkosi highlighted that most of the new cases are asymptomatic cases.

Prior on Thursday, Nkosi announced that the ministry of health has extended working hours of the testing lab and has since upscale the testing processes done in the kingdom.

Nkosi added that those who are still waiting for their results are reminded to adhere to the recommendation of isolating themselves from others so to prevent spreading the virus to others.

She went on to urging the public to continue observing the precautionary measures given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization (WHO).

The public is advised to wear musk whenever going outside their homes, if having flue also wear musk continue observing social distancing.
