MATSAPHA – MTN Premier League and MoMo Cup holders Nsingizini Hotspurs have released their Ghanaian midfielder Pius Baffour and Zimbabwean striker Alvin Shabashe just weeks before the start of the new football season.
The club has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, and both players’ next moves are unknown. Efforts to get comment from either player hit a dead end, while the team’s Public Relations Officer, Mnotfo Dlamini, declined to give a clear response.
“The team is currently preparing for the new season. We’ll provide a full list of who’s in and who’s out once everything is finalised,” he said.
Baffour, who was instrumental in Nsingizini’s double-title triumph during the 2024/25 season, confirmed his departure in a social media post on Friday. He expressed gratitude to the Shiselweni-based side for allowing him to showcase his talent and play a part in their historic run.
Shabashe, on the other hand, is believed to have exited earlier in the week.
