KWALUSENI – A third-year commerce student at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), Ndumiso Bhembe, received a brand-new wheelchair during a special handover ceremony held on campus Thursday.
The donation was made possible through the Africa Continent Mission, led by Reverend Dr. Chong-Yang Kim, and facilitated by Care for Someone Eswatini. The initiative was supported by the university’s Student Counselling Office and the Student Representative Council (SRC).
Bhembe, who is studying for a Bachelor of Commerce degree, had been in need of a wheelchair to improve his mobility and independence while navigating student life. During the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor and the Dean of Student Affairs joined students and staff to witness the handover, praising the act as a show of solidarity and support for students with physical disabilities.
University officials commended the cooperation between faith-based organisations and campus structures, noting that such partnerships continue to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable students.
