Mbabane – Mthobisi Maseko, 21, from Kancesi, appeared in Mbabane Magistrate Court today facing murder charges linked to a shooting on 4 July 2025.
The charge sheet states Maseko intentionally shot Bhekithemba Masilela, hitting him in the left shoulder. The wound proved fatal, leading to Masilela’s death.

During the hearing before Magistrate Xolile Nxumalo, the prosecution asked for Maseko to remain in police custody due to ongoing investigations requiring further questioning.
The magistrate agreed and ordered that Maseko stay in police custody until 16:00 today, after which he will be moved to Sidvwashini Correctional Facility. His next court date is set for 18 July 2025.
