Manzini – Moneni Pirates have appointed Meck Mwase as their new head coach following his departure from Mbabane Highlanders, who are now without both a managing director and a head coach ahead of the new season.
Mwase takes over from Caleb Ngwenya, who guided the Sea Robbers to their first-ever Ingwenyama Cup final last season. The club is counting on the Malawian tactician to build on that momentum and push the team toward silverware in the upcoming campaign.
The Pirates’ leadership confirmed the appointment through an official statement, naming Mwase’s CAF A Licence and previous coaching roles—including a stint with the Malawian national team—as key factors in their decision. He also previously led Mbabane Highlanders, making him no stranger to the demands of Eswatini’s elite football.
Moneni Pirates finished last season inside the top five and ended as runners-up in the MVA Ingwenyama Cup.
