SEVILLE, SPAIN – His Majesty King Mswati III arrived in Seville on Saturday night, June 28, to attend the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, shortly after concluding an official visit to Ghana that spanned five days.
The global summit, which begins this week, brings together heads of state, policy leaders, and financial institutions to explore sustainable funding solutions for developing countries. King Mswati’s participation follows a packed itinerary in Ghana, where he met with President John Dramani Mahama and engaged in a series of diplomatic and cultural events.
During his time in Ghana, the King visited both Accra and Kumasi. On his first day, he held bilateral talks with President Mahama at the Presidency. He then proceeded to Kumasi, where he was welcomed at Manhyia Palace by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The King’s engagements included an address to the National House of Chiefs, a tour of the Manhyia Palace Museum, a visit to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, and a durbar of chiefs held in his honour. He also toured the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and attended the university’s congregation ceremony with the Asantehene.
King Mswati’s final engagement in Ghana was a private royal banquet held at the Jubilee Hall in Manhyia, attended by senior Ghanaian royals and invited dignitaries.
