Siteki Town Council has kickstarted discussions with local businesses aimed at reviving Lubombo’s economic and tourism prospects. A strategic meeting held Monday morning focused on collaborative ways to market the region as a vibrant destination for culture, community events, and investment.
Officials from the municipality and representatives from the private sector gathered to explore how partnerships could breathe life back into Lubombo, once home to some of the country’s most memorable events. The discussions centred on making the region a hub for tourism and business, with renewed support for legacy events like the Simunye Fun Fair and the rollout of new attractions, including the Jilobi Walk Challenge.
The council is banking on shared vision and community-led ideas to turn the eastern region into a place of activity, culture, and opportunity. Further details are expected to be unveiled during the region’s upcoming official launch event.
