MBABANE – Thirty-six police officers have completed a five-week intensive training course on gender-based violence and domestic abuse at the Matsapha Police Academy, as part of the Royal Eswatini Police Service’s effort to strengthen protection and response in related cases.
The course officially closed today, with Deputy National Commissioner Ms Mumcy Dlamini delivering remarks on behalf of the National Commissioner. Speaking during the event, Dlamini said the training would improve professionalism within the force and ensure officers are better equipped to deal with sensitive domestic violence matters.
“Such trainings foster efforts of formulating practical strategies with a value-chain-attitude entangled with customer-oriented performance,” said Dlamini.
Representing the graduates, Detective Constable Sandile Simelane thanked the police service for the opportunity, saying the programme had equipped them with skills to better support survivors and understand the procedures involved in domestic violence investigations.
