King Mswati III is expected in Ghana on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, for a five-day state visit that will include engagements with President John Dramani Mahama, traditional leaders, and key institutions aimed at strengthening Eswatini-Ghana relations.
The Eswatini monarch will be welcomed in Accra, where he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Mahama and senior government officials. A Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed during this session to bolster cooperation between the two countries.
Shortly after his meeting at the Presidency, the King will visit the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat in Accra before heading to Kumasi, Ghana’s second-largest city and home to the Asante Kingdom.
In Kumasi, His Majesty will be hosted by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for a series of cultural and official events. These include a visit to the Manhyia Palace Museum, a public address to the National House of Chiefs, and a courtesy call to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
A grand durbar of chiefs in his honour is scheduled for Thursday at Manhyia Palace. The following day, King Mswati III will tour the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and attend a royal banquet at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall.
On Saturday, the King will join the Asantehene at a KNUST congregation ceremony before returning to Accra via the Prempeh I International Airport.
