MBABANE – The organisers of the highly anticipated men’s mental health symposium, featuring former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star Doctor Khumalo, have announced the change of venue from Malandela’s in Malkerns to Woodlands Auditorium, Ezulwini, to ensure comfort amid the prevailing winter chills.
Khumalo, who now serves as a technical coach, will join other speakers in leading a conversation focused on men’s mental health.
Organisers say the event is designed to create a safe and inclusive space for men to discuss mental health issues. The programme is expected to feature real-life stories of resilience and perseverance that aim to empower the crowd.
The symposium takes place during Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, with organisers showing concern about the lack of open dialogue among men.
Sisusa Dlamini, organiser, said the choice of speakers was based on the different life experiences they bring to the table.
“We wanted a line-up that reflects the many faces of manhood. Doctor Khumalo is from sports, Daladi is an entrepreneur, and Bongani is an academic. This way, we’re making sure that every man in the room can see himself in someone,” has previously said.
Dlamini added that the symposium will also serve as a special birthday celebration for Khumalo, who turns 58 on June 26.
