MBABANE – HRH Prince Lonkhokhela held a high-level meeting with electric vehicle (EV) policy experts on Wednesday, 5 June 2025, as Eswatini moves to shape its future around clean transport and energy.

The meeting, convened at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, brought together representatives from international firms Fichtner and Computronics, both known for their work in electric mobility policy development. The session focused on drafting a roadmap to integrate EVs into Eswatini’s transport system.

Government officials are looking to reduce the country’s reliance on fossil fuels and cut down carbon emissions. By engaging with experienced EV consultants, the Ministry aims to create policies that will support infrastructure development, investment in charging stations, and long-term environmental sustainability.

According to the Ministry, the meeting also supports national goals to improve energy security and diversify power sources. Both Fichtner and Computronics are expected to assist in drawing up strategic guidelines tailored to Eswatini’s needs.
