Government and police authorities met yesterday to step up the fight against child violence in Eswatini.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and the Royal Eswatini Police Service held a closed-door meeting on Monday in Mbabane, where both parties agreed on urgent, joint measures to address the growing scourge of violence against children.
The meeting focused on mapping out clear strategies to prevent abuse and strengthen protective systems, especially in rural and high-risk areas. Officials resolved to work more closely with community networks already active in towns and villages, seeing them as key partners in creating safer spaces for children.
Senior representatives from both institutions shared concern over rising reports of child abuse, agreeing that coordinated interventions and grassroots support would play a central role in reversing the trend.
