MAGELE – Mlulamli Dlamini, a resident of Magele, will soon move into a newly built executive double-storey house, courtesy of the Eswatini Contractors Association (ECA) and the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA).
The official house design, which includes a balcony and modern features, was presented to Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla during a boardroom meeting where it received her formal approval. The announcement signals the start of a collaborative construction effort involving several government and private stakeholders.
A seven-member delegation from the ECA, led by Chairperson Rueben Msibi, confirmed that a professional constructor based in Nhlangano has been assigned to the project. Construction is set to begin next week, with oversight and funding provided directly by the ECA. The Ministry of Works and Transport has already cleared the road leading to Dlamini’s homestead to facilitate access to the site.
Members of the ECA have committed to supplying building materials, household essentials, and other support items. Senior government officials, including the DPM and Heads of Departments, have also made personal contributions, reducing the overall project cost. The NDMA will cover any outstanding expenses.
The house design was based on input gathered during a site visit to Dlamini’s property. Observing his fondness for the layout of his original double-storey home, ECA architects incorporated similar features into the new plan. Dlamini himself will be directly involved in the building process.
Completion is projected for the end of June 2025.
