JERICHO – The lifeless body of eight-year-old Tifezile Gwebu, who went missing last week in Siguduma, has been discovered inside a homestead in Jericho, a settlement located within the Sahhukwane area.
The tragic discovery was confirmed on Thursday morning, 29 May 2025, by the girl’s father, Thembinkosi Gwebu, who told Eswatini Newsroom that the family and community were devastated by the loss. “It’s a difficult moment for us. We are still in shock,” he said, speaking from the scene.
Tifezile was last seen on Wednesday, 21 May, in the company of an unknown man. Her disappearance sparked a widespread search led by the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) and local residents across the Shiselweni region.
Police have yet to release further information on the circumstances surrounding her death, including whether any arrests have been made. Authorities are expected to give a formal update as investigations unfold.
