The Taiwan Technical Mission recently held a hands-on workshop in Eswatini, teaching over 80 local farmers practical skills in guava and dragon fruit cultivation alongside composting techniques.

The event took place at a local venue and focused on sustainable farming methods aimed at boosting crop quality while reducing costs. Farmers learned how to build compost piles, manage moisture levels, and turn farm waste into natural fertiliser.

Experts explained how using compost can improve soil health, increase fruit yields, and minimise the need for chemical inputs, promoting more environmentally friendly agriculture across the country.

One farmer attending the workshop remarked on the value of the training, saying, “I never knew composting involved so many important techniques. Now I know how to do it right.”
