Manzini– Preparations for the 57th edition of the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) kicked off on Wednesday at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, with fresh additions and a renewed focus on digital transformation.
Commerce, Industry and Trade Minister Manqoba Khumalo officiated the launch, which signalled the country’s readiness to host one of its biggest economic showcases from 29 August to 8 September. This year’s theme, “Digital Transformation 2.0 – Creating Business Networks”, points to a tech-driven experience aimed at connecting businesses across sectors and borders.

The fair, organised by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), will feature exhibitions from both local and international participants, as well as new zones dedicated to lifestyle, wellness, and football. EIPA Chief Executive Officer Sibani Mngomezulu said the goal is to create a holistic event that promotes trade, strengthens partnerships, and offers something for everyone—including families.

A special video presentation at the launch revisited the EITF’s journey since 1968 when it began as the Swaziland Independence Exhibition. The fair has since grown to attract exhibitors from countries such as the United States, Netherlands, Taiwan, Portugal, and South Africa.
Representatives from last year’s standout participants, including Nconco’s Kitchen, Macsteele’s Okuhle Ngwenya, and Gcebile Dlamini from the National Disaster Management Agency, shared their experiences at the launch. Each cited the fair’s value in providing brand exposure and driving business growth.
Corporate sponsors also weighed in. 8Bet’s Chief Operating Officer Belinda Motsa said the event presents a key opportunity for brand visibility in the local market, while First National Bank CEO Thokozani Dlamini said FNB’s support stems from a belief in shared prosperity and community development.
The Eswatini Premier League, represented by Lindokuhle Mthupha, confirmed that soccer matches will once again be part of the fair’s entertainment lineup. Manzini Mayor Wesley Dlamini expressed hope that the 2025 edition will surpass previous standards, noting football’s power to unite communities.
With demand for exhibition space already high, Khumalo urged citizens and businesses to take part, describing the fair as a national asset that fosters inclusive economic growth.
