Hosea, Shiselweni – His Majesty King Mswati III officially commissioned a suite of development projects worth over E60 million at Hosea Inkhundla on April 30, 2025, marking a major milestone in the region’s post-unrest recovery and infrastructure rollout.
The projects include a newly rebuilt and upgraded Inkhundla centre, a community clinic, a hall, and nine vehicles for community development officers—all financed through the Regional Development Fund. The upgrades come nearly four years after the original Hosea Inkhundla infrastructure was destroyed in the 2021 unrest that swept across the country. The rebuilt centre now features modern amenities and a security surveillance system.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd, the King outlined the Government’s intention to uplift rural communities through ongoing development, calling on residents to take an active role in generating practical ideas that address local needs.
Also announced was a major road upgrade: the Hluthi-Mbulungwane road via Hosea and Sindzandlala will be tarred and integrated into a larger network linking Hlatsi, Maloma, Etjendlovu, Siphofaneni and Siphambanweni. This is part of broader efforts to improve rural connectivity and support economic activity in underdeveloped regions.
In a gesture aimed at social support, His Majesty revealed that 10 proper homes would be built for vulnerable elderly residents in Hosea under a national housing initiative that began in Madlangempisi.
Earlier that day, King Mswati III officially opened Usizo Plaza, a new locally owned shopping complex hosting 17 stores, including popular retail chains.
