MBABANE, ESWATINI — April 29, 2025 — Eswatini companies have emerged as standout performers in the 2024–25 SADC Quality Awards, claiming multiple top honours across categories and reinforcing the Kingdom’s growing reputation for quality and innovation in business and public service.

Organized by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, the annual awards recognize companies and individuals who implement international best practices in quality management systems, contributing to economic development within the region. This year’s competition received 30 entries from Eswatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania.

Eswatini Meat Industries earned the highest accolade in the Company of the Year – Large Enterprise category, standing out for its commitment to world-class production standards. In the SME division, the National Disaster Management Agency was declared winner, a rare feat for a public agency in a category often dominated by private firms.

Swazi Tiles Investments secured Product of the Year – SME for its locally manufactured Double-Roman Concrete Roof Tile, further showcasing Eswatini’s innovation in construction materials. Meanwhile, Cerba Lancet Eswatini Laboratories was named first runner-up in Service of the Year – Large Enterprise, and Rannah Investments (Pvt) Ltd received a certificate of recognition in the SME service category.

In the export sector, RFG Eswatini (Pty) Ltd placed as first runner-up in the Exporter of the Year – Large Enterprise category, with its operations attracting praise for meeting rigorous cross-border standards. On the individual front, Goodwill Matsebula was named first runner-up in the Individual of the Year category for his contributions to advancing quality initiatives in the Kingdom.

Regionally, other notable winners included Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank, which took Service of the Year – Large Enterprise, and Bigtree Beverages (Zambia), named Exporter of the Year – Large Enterprise. Prof. Tiisekwa of Tanzania won Individual of the Year, with entries from Zimbabwe and Tanzania also earning recognition in several categories.

Judging was conducted online, with adjudicators accessing entries through a digital repository created by the SADC Secretariat. The process culminated in virtual deliberation sessions on February 26 and March 6, 2025, where the final scores and rankings were confirmed.
