Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lin Chia-lung, landed in Eswatini on Monday as a special envoy of President Lai, joining the Kingdom in honouring His Majesty King Mswati III on his 57th birthday.
Dr. Lin was received at King Mswati III International Airport by Eswatini’s Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Pholile Shakantu, alongside a crowd of jubilant Taiwanese nationals living in the country.
The visit reflects the enduring diplomatic ties between Taiwan and Eswatini, one of the few African nations maintaining official relations with Taipei.
Later that evening, the visiting foreign minister hosted a banquet for Taiwanese citizens residing in Eswatini and Southern Africa. Speaking to guests, Dr. Lin expressed gratitude for their steadfast commitment to representing Taiwan on the continent, noting their efforts contribute significantly to the country’s global presence.
