Harare – Zambia Revenue Authority clinched top honours at the 2025 Southern Africa Inter-Revenue Administration Games (SAIRAG), which wrapped up on April 20 at the University of Zimbabwe Sports Pavilion in Harare. Lesotho followed closely in second place, with host nation Zimbabwe finishing third overall in a tournament that brought together seven Southern African nations.
From April 18 to 20, athletes from Eswatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, and Botswana competed fiercely in football, netball, volleyball, pool, darts, chess, basketball, table tennis, tug of war, and athletics. While Zambia and Lesotho dominated the medal tables, Zimbabwe impressed in several team events, with ZIMRA’s football team defeating Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) 3-1 and recording back-to-back netball wins—21-19 against Lesotho and 31-20 against NamRA.

Eswatini Revenue Service also made a strong impression, securing silver in the women’s darts category and a third-place finish in men’s table tennis. The achievements marked a proud moment for Eswatini, showcasing the strength of its less-publicised sporting disciplines.

The energy throughout the games remained high, both on and off the field, with participants describing an atmosphere of fierce competition blended with unity and regional solidarity.
Malawi Revenue Authority participated in all listed events, further contributing to the spirit of teamwork and collaboration that defines SAIRAG. Spectators were able to follow the excitement through live updates shared on ZIMRA’s official Facebook page, while the host country extended warm hospitality to hundreds of visiting athletes and officials.
