Eswatini’s Prime Minister, Russell Mmiso Dlamini, has praised the MTN Bushfire Festival for its significant role in driving tourism, creating local economic opportunities, and supporting the creative economy. Speaking at the official launch of the 2025 festival at House on Fire, Dlamini highlighted how the event contributes to Eswatini’s development.
This year’s MTN Bushfire Festival, scheduled for May 30 to June 2, 2025, will be held under the theme “Creativity. Unity. Sustainability.” Dlamini noted that, over the past 18 years, the festival has gained global recognition not only for its artistic energy but also for its commitment to sustainability, aligning with the country’s development goals.
He further praised MTN Bushfire for celebrating the arts while maintaining environmental and social responsibility, a principle central to Eswatini’s National Development Plan (NDP) and the Government Programme of Action (2024/2025-2028/2029).

Dlamini expressed the government’s focus on sustainability as a cornerstone of national growth, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage, natural resources, and a skilled workforce. He also looked forward to the festival as an opportunity to unite various sectors, including artists, youth, small businesses, and marginalized groups, in a celebration of inclusivity.
The Prime Minister concluded by congratulating MTN Eswatini and the MTN Bushfire Festival for their vital role in diversifying the economy, attracting international visitors, and fostering sustainable economic development.
