World Vision Eswatini marked World Water Day 2025 by joining forces with key partners in the Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable water management. The event, held in Magubheleni, Shiselweni, spotlighted the pressing need for lasting access to clean water, particularly for vulnerable communities.

Tinah Mukunda, the National Director of World Vision Eswatini, took the opportunity to stress the significance of clean water in tackling broader development challenges. She explained that access to safe water not only improves health but also contributes to better educational outcomes and economic empowerment.

World Vision’s ongoing efforts have already made a notable impact in Eswatini, providing access to clean water for 120,000 people over the past four years. However, Mukunda acknowledged that many communities continue to face severe water shortages, emphasizing the need for stronger partnerships and sustained investments in water infrastructure.

Looking ahead, World Vision is set to embark on a new partnership with the Eswatini Government to accelerate progress towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6: Universal Access to Safe Water. Over the next five years, the initiative aims to extend water access to 18 constituencies, or Tinkhundla, across the country.
